[Award] Dr. Katsuda received the 7th Young Scientist Award of the Physical Society of Japan.

勝田さんが第７回日本物理学会若手奨励賞を受賞しました。この賞は、将来の物 理学を担う優秀な若手研究者の研究を奨励し、学会をより活性化するた めに、 日本物理学会が 2007 年に設けたものです。毎年一回、日本物理学会の各領域の 若手数名（学会全体で 50 名を上限）に授与されます。勝田さんは、X線天文衛 星「チャンドラ」及び「ニュートン」を用い、若い超新星残骸の運動学的研究に おいて先駆的成果を挙げま した。この業績に対して、宇宙線・宇宙物理領域 （実験部門）での受賞となりました。
