Katsuda's paper on the Cygnus Loop has been accpected for publication in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Dr. Katsuda and a team of scientist have discovered a pulsar wind nebula candidate in the Cygnus Loop supernova remnant, based on X-ray observations with Suzaku and XMM-Newton. While the origin of the Cygnus Loop has been believed to be a core-collapse of a massive star, no neutron star associated with the remnant has been […]

Katsuda's paper on Puppis A has been accpected for publication in The Astrophysical Journal.

Dr. Katsuda and a team of scientists have revealed high-resolution X-ray spectra of the Galactic supernova remnant Puppis A, using the XMM-Newton Reflection Grating Spectrometer. The X-ray spectra are found to show peculiar features that cannot be reproduced by thermal emission model. It is suggested that such anomalous spectral features are due to charge-exchange emission. […]

Konami's paper on NGC3079 has been accepted.

Konami, who is a D3 student, have succeeded in compiling a paper on metal abundances in the hot plasma of starburst galaxy NGC3079, is accepted by PASJ. The detail is shown in http://arxiv.org/abs/1205.6005. Also, Konami et al. gave an oral presentation about this topic at an international conference, Mapping "Oxygen in the Universe" (http://www.iac.es/congreso/oxygenmap/pages/home.php), held in Tenerife island during […]

Suzaku GSO paper have been accepted.

Yamada, who graduated from Makishima lab. in 2011, have compiled the Suzaku GSO paper working with the HXD team. The paper is available from Improvements in calibration of GSO scintillators in the Suzaku Hard X-ray Detector Yamada, Makishima et al. 2011 PASJ . In this paper, we succeeded in obtaining consistent results among in-orbit data, […]

Katsuda's paper on Vela pulser has been accepted.

Dr. Katsuda and collaborators published a paper entitled "Suzaku detection of Diffuse Hard X-Ray Emission Outside Vela X" in Publications of Astronomical Society of Japan (available from http://arxiv.org/abs/1103.4872). Katsuda and collaborators observed the Vela pulsar wind nebula with Suzaku, and discovered that the X-ray-emitting nebula extends outside the radio-emitting nebula. This finding strongly suggests that […]
